GIVE YOUR VALENTINE’S DAY A KICK
MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES PROBABLY AREN’T THE FIRST THING YOU THINK ABOUT WHEN YOU CONSIDER POTENTIAL VALENTINE’S DAY GIFTS … BUT …
The traditional gifts of roses, chocolates, and jewelry are always popular – and I understand why. They’re romantic and they may be just the thing to make your significant other smile and feel appreciated.
But … does romance always have to be about hearts and flowers? It’s 2019!
Now, this isn’t about getting your valentine to go to the gym on their own. It’s about the two of you doing something fun – and physical – TOGETHER.
Let’s face it. Getting physical together is something you want to do. This is just a different way of doing it. Learning martial arts is fun. It teaches you to control your body and mind, helping them work together in new ways.
It’s very different from hopping on a treadmill or an elliptical machine. We see couples come in all the time. And when they take a class together, we can see how it brings them closer together. It’s a bonding experience, and the closeness it generates is something they take home with them after class.
And hey, you can always pair it with some roses – traditional and modern gifts at the same time!
GIVE THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON KICKIN’!
IT ALL STARTS WITH THE HEART
IN FACT, VALENTINE’S DAY IS ALL ABOUT HEARTS!
But I’m not just talking about heart-shaped candy boxes and balloons.
Eating a bunch of chocolate is NOT going to make your heart healthier but studying martial arts definitely will!
Our classes provide a great workout. We’ll get your heart pumping and your blood flowing. We all need regular cardiovascular workouts to be healthy, and the martial arts classes we offer at Glens Falls Karate Academy provide a great workout.
What really happens when you have a healthy cardiovascular system? Well, you burn fat, for one. That can make both you and your valentine feel more confident about the way you look.
Studying martial arts has another benefit – and it’s one that’s great for couples … People who work out regularly tend to have stronger libidos than those who don’t. That’s because circulation is the key to a strong sex drive.
In other words, giving your sweetie martial arts classes is something that can improve your sex life, too!
People who take our classes improve their stamina, strength, and flexibility – and these are all things that can improve your physical relationship.
What about the emotional benefits of working out together?
LET’S START WITH THE HORMONES …
Working out delivers feel-good hormones that make you feel vital and happy. I’m talking about things like endorphins, happy hormones that are released after physical exertion. They induce a sense of euphoria – and don’t you want to be feeling euphoric when you’re with your significant other?
Another hormonal shift happens when you work out. Your body interprets intense exercise as a form of stress. It releases something called Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), which acts as sort of a reset button for your brain. It helps you let go of negative feelings.
Combine these two things, and you can understand why working out makes you feel good!
Couples who workout together get to experience these things at the same time. They feel relaxed, free of stress, and euphoric. I don’t think I need to explain why that’s a good thing! It’s easy to let stress and anxiety get in the way of the time we spend with our partners.
These days, many of us have stressful jobs. We may have stress caused by other things, too – finances, health issues, and kids, just to name a few.
Coming to Glens Falls Karate Academy together to take a class can help you refocus on one another. It’s a good way to release of the stress of the day, let your feel-good hormones take over, and appreciate your partner in a whole new way.
RELEASE THOSE “FEEL-GOOD” HORMONES!
