Did you know that Singapore has the world’s 3rd highest rate of bullying?
Fifteen-year-olds experience more bullying in Singapore than teens of the same age in 50 other countries. This is according to a study conducted by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Latvia and New Zealand topped the list of countries with the highest bullying rates.
We all know that bullying is every parent’s nightmare.
We hear it happening in schools, in the sandbox, playgrounds, and even in our own children’s social circles.
You wouldn’t want to wake up one day and find out that your kid is either a bully or bullied.
Bullying in schools has been a problem for many years now.
Some schools have implemented strategies and made the effort to end bullying, but bullying still exists.
The good news is that karate training can help your kid develop the necessary social skills needed to avoid being a bully or the target of bullies.
Karate training is a way for your child to develop that self-confidence to stand up against bullies.
It also provides a way for your kid to learn vital life skills. Kids who train at Glens Falls Karate Academy learn self-discipline, self-respect, and respect for others.
It’s important for a kid to develop and master these essential life skills. Change has to come from the inside.
Coaches and instructors believe that learning these traits can help stop bullying, and these can be learned through martial arts training.
The question is, do you want to help your kids learn these skills? Do you want your kid to become better members of the society or will you just keep your fingers crossed?
Do you think your kid needs to be empowered to be able to stand up for himself or herself? Why or Why not?
