What are you paying for when it comes to your children’s involvement in martial arts?

children martial arts
  1. You pay for those moments when your kids become so tired they want to quit, but don’t.
  2. You pay for those days when your kids come home from school and are “too tired” to go to class, but they go anyway.
  3. You pay for your kids to learn self-discipline, focus and dedication.
  4. You pay for your kids to learn to take care of their body, and learn how to correctly fuel their body for success.
  5. You pay for your kids to learn to work with others and to be good teammates, gracious in defeat and humble in success.
  6. You pay for your kids to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don’t get that placing or title they hoped for, but they still go back week after week, giving it their best shot.
  7. You pay for your kids to learn to set and achieve goals.
  8. You pay for your kids to respect, not only themselves, but to respect authority, teachers, classmates and coaches.
  9. You pay for your kids to learn that it takes hours and hours, years and years of hard work and practice to create a champion and that success doesn’t happen overnight.
  10. You pay for your kids to be proud of small achievements, and to work toward long term goals.
  11. You pay for the opportunity your kids have and will have to make life-long friendships, create lifelong memories, to be as proud of their achievements as you are
  12. You pay for your kids so they can be in the dojo instead of in front of a screen …
  13.  You pay for those rides home where you make precious memories talking about practice, both good and bad.
  14. You pay so your kids can learn the importance of time management and balancing what is important, like school and keeping grades up.
  15. You pay for your kids to develop attributes that will serve them well throughout their lives and give them the opportunity to bless the lives of others.
  16. … sounds like a great investment to me!

Basic SKILLZ
1st Grade - 3rd Grade

It's often easy for teachers and parents to overestimate 5-6 year old children. They're better at following directions and paying attention than younger children, but they still need some help controlling themselves and focusing on tasks.

Core SKILLZ
3rd Grade - 5th Grade

Children are like sponges. They absorb things quickly and easily - far more easily than we do as adults. Not only are they getting healthier as they learn martial arts, but they're also learning the value of self-discipline and respect.
