Dear Parents,
Our goal is to help our students balance both physical and mental development. We want our students to be well-rounded individuals. To do so, each month we focus on a new character word that will help our youthful students become better citizens. Having strong character is an important part of leading a fulfilling life. We believe that having character is just as important as academic and athletic achievements.
This month, we will focus on TEAMWORK. There are so many areas in life where teamwork is important. We as Martial Artists are in a unique position to instill activities that properly engage children with other children their own age. By participating in age-appropriate activities that teach teamwork, you will notice your child become a better citizen in social circles, and a better family participant at home.
You can help by fostering teamwork at home. To help support teamwork objectives, try the following strategies:
- Make a list of the chores that must be done around the house and have your child pick the chores that are appropriate for his/ her age.
- Play family games and model good sportsmanship and fair play.
- Have your child participate in helping with more difficult chores such as cooking, yard work, organizing, washing the car, etc.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to watching our youthful students build the skill of TEAMWORK.
Sincerely,
Senpai Joe Traina
